Nanumba North is one of the twenty (26) districts in the Northern Region of Ghana. The district shares boundaries with East Gonja District to the west and south-west, Yendi Municipal to the north. To the east, it shares boundaries with Zabzugu District, to the south with kpandai District and to the south east with the Nanumba South. The administrative district capital is Bimbilla.
The district is occupied by two major ethnic groups, namely the Nanumbas and Konkonbas and a few Basares and other minority tribes with the Nanumbas forming the dominant ethnic group. Therefore major languages spoken are Nanumba and Konkomba.
With seven towns seeking socio economic development,the district aims at developing and promoting the private sector as the engine of growth through organised and vibrant associations.
The district assembly also aims at improving drastically the physical infrastructure (classrooms, furniture & logistics) equitably throughout the seven towns in the district.
